The biggest changes in the welfare system in 60 years have begun. The Welfare Reform Act 2012 is at the heart of changes to stem the rising costs of benefits whilst also shifting expectations of precisely what Government should pay for.  In quite a short space of time many changes will be made to the already complex and tightly-regulated benefit and tax credit system.  A tightening of regulations will be particularly felt by people of working-age claiming benefit who, the Government hopes, will be more encouraged to work.
