Two Castles Housing Association has options available for residents to make payments by Direct Debits.

Benefits to you in using Direct Debits for payment

You are always in control of the Direct Debit payments.  Two Castles Housing Association as part of the Direct Debits scheme must work within strict rules and these protect the person making the payments. 

These benefits and controls for you mean

  • Before Two Castles collects money using the Directs you will receive a letter advising you of the agreed monthly payment collection date and the regular amount
  • You can cancel the Direct Debits at any time
  • All payments made by Direct Debit are guaranteed, so under the direct debit agreement in the unlikely event of any error this must be resolved with an immediate refund.

Arranging payments using Direct Debits

If you would like to sign up to Direct Debits please contact Two Castles through customer services.  Direct Debits are set up by Two Castles finance department and customer services will put you in contact with the correct person to arrange this for you.  If we are unable to setup the direct debit at the time of your call we will arrange a call back.

To set up the Direct Debit we would need to discuss with you the regular payment amount required.   

How are the Direct Debits calculated?

The direct debit amount is working out the total rental amount over the year spread into monthly amounts, other amounts can be calculated and included in the direct debit amount such as other charges or arrears as well as different payment methods being made to your account. 

Your housing officer can advise you on the options available and how Direct Debits can work alongside other payment methods.

What dates are available for collection?

There are four monthly dates available for Direct Debit collection.  These are 3rd, 10th, 17th 24th of each month

The Direct Debit guarantee


• This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits
• If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit Two Castles Housing Association Ltd will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Two Castles Housing Association Ltd to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.
• If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by Two Castles Housing Association Ltd or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society
– If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Two Castles Housing Association Ltd asks you to
• You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us if you have cancelled your direct debit.
