Development opportunities

As a high quality, affordable homes provider, Two Castles Housing Association is constantly seeking to add to its existing housing stock by looking for development opportunities in areas where need is greatest.

In the current financial climate many people are finding it increasingly difficult to find a decent home in the area where they wish to live, at an affordable price.

We develop new homes in two ways - either by buying land directly from landowners and contracting local builders to develop in accordance with our standard house types and specification. Or by partnering with developers which are building a housing scheme, but which are required by the local planning authority to provide some affordable housing.

Many smaller developers prefer to work with us as they can use our knowledge and resources relating to Code for Sustainable Homes and HCA standards to achieve planning permission on sites. Land owners will often choose to sell land to us, rather than private developers, as housing associations can build on land which private developers cannot and our schemes are often grant funded.

Over time, Two Castles has built up a strong reputation for delivering attractive, high quality, modern homes. We strive to ensure our own developments comply with the following standards:

  • Secured by Design
  • Code for Sustainable Homes
  • Lifetime Homes
  • NHBC
  • HCA Design and Quality standards
  • Considerate Constructors scheme
  • Building for Life

We are increasingly conscious of the need to provide sustainable homes which have low running costs for our residents. All of our new build homes meet a minimum Code for Sustainable Homes rating of Level 3 and some pipeline schemes are being designed to meet Level 4.
