Two Castles Housing Association works in partnership with private developers which are often required to sell a percentage of the scheme to housing associations as a condition of planning, to help retain affordable housing in an area in perpetuity.

We are happy to discuss buying affordable units from developers. Any homes which we buy would need to comply with prevailing Homes and Communities Agency requirements and we can help by providing guidance if required by a developer.

To increase our housing stock further, Two Castles can purchase land directly, design the homes and achieve planning permission before tendering to local building firms for the scheme’s build.

Working in partnership with South Lakeland District Council

SLDC carried out an assessment on its stock of depot land to identify and highlight a number of potential housing sites to Registered Social Landlords.

Russell Armer Homes

Two Castles has worked in partnership with Russell Armer Homes on our Grange Fell Road site at Grange over Sands.

Cubby Construction

We entered into a building agreement with Cubby Construction at our Jollybeard site in Alston, Cumbria to build two, two bedroom bungalows.
