Our Board and Committees
The Board of Two Castles Housing Association is responsible for, and makes decisions about, the policies and strategic direction of the organisation. It is responsible for setting, monitoring and reviewing our overall aims, objectives and policies and overseeing our performance.
Two Castles also has Resources, Audit and Staffing & Remuneration Committees.

Board Members  

Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson

Chairman

Michael has been Chairman since 2010. He brings a wealth of experience to the Board, having been Chairman of Derwent and Solway Housing Association and a Board member for the Independent Housing Ombudsman Service. A former Magistrate, he is also Clerk and Executive Officer of Lakes Parish Council.

Fiona Moore

Fiona Moore

Deputy Chairman and Chairman of Staffing & Remuneration Committee

Fiona has been a Board member since 2011. A Solicitor by profession, she most recently worked for the Probation Service and is currently undertaking a piece of Work for the Ministry of Justice. Fiona is Chair of Governors of St. Martinís and St. Maryís Primary School, Windermere, and a member of the Cumbria Police & Crime Commissionerís Audit Committee.

Stephen Bennett

Stephen Bennett

Chairman of Audit Committee

Stephen has been a Board member since 2011. He has a wealth of experience in the judiciary, as well as in assessing public services. Stephenís background in assessing service standards and in regulation is very useful in his role on the Board and Audit Committee.

Phil Cottrill

Phil Cottrill

Chairman of Resources Committee

Phil has been a Board member since 2010. He previously worked for Sellafield in Copeland, where he has lived for 30 years. He has a private sector background at senior management level, based in a number of industries, and brings extensive experience of strategic management and performance to the Board. Phil is the Board Champion for Asset Management.

Rosalind Johnson

Rosalind Johnson

Roz, who is a resident of the Association, has been a Board member since 2010, and is also a member of the Residentsí Panel. She brings significant experience of community development to the Board. Having previously worked as a Community Development Officer, she has been involved with several community management committees, and was treasurer of a community association.

Ann Carr

Ann Carr

Ann, who is a resident of the Association, has been a Board member since 2011. She also serves on the Resources Committee, and is a member of the Residentsí Panel, as well as several policy-making groups within the organisation. Ann feels that her own personal experience of living in a Two Castlesí home positively shapes her contribution to the Board.

Jane Vickers

Jane Vickers

Jane has been a Board member since 2012. She is a qualified accountant. She also serves on the Resources Committee and is Board Champion for Equality and Diversity. Having graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in Public Administration, Jane currently works as an estates accountant for central government.

Martin Knowles

Martin Knowles

Martin has been a Board member since 2012. He also serves on the Resources Committee and Audit Committee, and is Board Champion for Value for Money. He is a qualified accountant, and spent 10 years as Finance Director in the NHS and was also Chief Executive of 4 Housing Group. Martinís significant experience and knowledge of the social housing and financial sectors is useful in his role on the Board and committees.
